The Langtang Trek takes you through forests, farmlands, villages and among high Himalayan Mountains.  The deep gorges of the Bhote Koshi and Langtang Khola are thickly forested with rhododendron - the national flower of Nepal, oak, maple and alder trees.

The stretch of forest around Ghoda Tabela in the lower Langtang Valley is inhabited by the red panda.  Other animals common to these forests are wild boar, the Himalayan black bear, ghoral, grey languor monkey, and leopard.  The Himalayan Thar and musk deer are found at the higher elevations.

The spectacular views of the high mountains from Chorkari Ri are one of the highlights of this trek.  Most of the native people in this region are Buddhists.  The Upper Langtang region is inhabited by people of Tibetan descent, whereas the villagers of Dhunche, Bharkhu, Syabru and further down are members of the Tamang ethnic group.
